Laser Hair Removal in Michigan
Laser hair removal is a process of removing unwanted hair, utilizing laser energy. The hair follicle is targeted with the laser that causes thermal damage to the follicle which prevents further hairs from growing. The laser is pulsed, or turned on, for only a fraction of a second. The duration of each pulse is just long enough to damage the follicle, while the laser’s unique, patented contact-cooling hand piece helps protect the skin by conductive cooling during laser energy delivery. Theoretically, damage to the hair follicle can remove unwanted hair permanently, but because of the nature of hair and the many factors that influence the growth of hair, the results are variable. In fact, most of our Michigan laser hair removal patients experience long-term results.
Is laser hair removal safe?
As with any medical treatment, the use of lasers can have some side effects. However, side effects are usually minimal and manageable. Advanced research has resulted in a safe technique that effectively eliminates the risk of scarring and substantially reduces most complications following treatment. No treatment to remove unwanted hair is completely painless. Patients who have undergone repeated waxing or hours of electrolysis can attest to the pain caused by commonly used methods of epilation.
The Allure Medical Difference
The lasers used at Allure Medical are fast which reduces treatment time for our Shelby Township, Clarkston and Livonia laser hair removal patients. It provides long-lasting hair removal, reducing the need for repeated treatment. The ChillTip™ cooling lens helps reduce discomfort while protecting the skin surface from thermal injury during delivery of the pulse of the laser light. If large or sensitive areas with unwanted hair are to be treated, a topical anesthetic cream may be applied to the site to further reduce discomfort.
Allure Medical uses only the latest technology available. Our current state-of-the-art equipment for laser hair removal is the Fotona Dynamis Pro.
Unlike most practices, we have invested in multiple pieces of equipment to tailor their use to our client’s needs, rather than trying to make one machine adapt to any skin or hair type. We choose the laser for your skin based on skin pigmentation, light sensitivity, and hair color/texture.
