Breast Reduction for Men
If you have concerns about your breasts being too large for your frame, you’re not alone. This is one of the most common cosmetic procedures men have performed.
This procedure is for the man who had breast enlargement, and it doesn’t respond to diet and exercise. Many men develop this during puberty. Others acquire it slowly over time.
There are 2 terms for this condition.
Gynecomastia refers to overgrowth of breast gland tissue. Pseudogynecomastia refers to fatty growth into the gland tissue. Most men have pseudogynecomastia or a combination of both.
Fortunately there is an easy solution. Laser liposuction (Smart Lipo, Cool Lipo) breaks up the tissue with a little device, inserted through a tiny hole near your armpit. The fat and tissue is removed in the same fashion. This is done with sedation and local anesthetic, so you’ll feel nothing. In some cases (true gynecomastia), after the Smart Lipo, there is residual breast tissue. If this is the case, a small incision is made in the nipple, and the tissue is removed. The scar is essentially invisible in a couple of months in most cases. In the vast majority of cases, there is no need for skin removal, it tightens right up during the procedure.
